A Message from the Staff Parish Relations Committee:

We are excited to welcome Rev. O’Connor-Slater to our church. She has extensive service that includes appointments in Ellisburg, Solvay, Liverpool, Fulton and Delmar (outside Albany). Prior to her appointment in Delmar, Rev. Deborah was the Director of Transitional Ministry for the Upper New York Annual Conference. She has served as a District Superintendent and a local church pastor since her entry into ordained ministry in 1981.She retired in 2017, and likes to read mystery novels, knit, walk, and spend time with her children and grandchildren at her Oneida River home in Brewerton. She is married to Rev. Alan D. Kinney.

Please join us in offering a warm welcome and a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to Rev. O’Connor-Slater as
she joins us this Sunday and, in the months ahead.

Respectfully,
SPRC Committee

Outreach

If you are thinking early about Christmas this year, perhaps you might like to include a gift of a can of coffee for the clients at the F-M Community Food Pantry. During the month of November,
we will be collecting cans of coffee here at FUMC. There will be a collection box inside the office entrance. If you would like to make a cash donation to the food pantry, you can drop it off here at the church. If you would like to send a check, please mail it to:

FM Food Pantry
P.O. Box 626
Manlius, NY 13104

We average 150 families, and the coffee is collected through November to begin client’s foods distribution in December. If you have any questions, please contact Lois Vitale.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

I don’t know about you, but each year I receive unsolicited cards and calendars. As you receive these please consider setting them aside for the Prayer Shawl Ministry Group and AARP. These are then given to folks along with a lap robe at Christmastime. If you are returning to church this month you can put the calendars and cards in a box that has been placed just inside the front door. If you are not returning just yet feel free to call Cora Reals and she will be glad to pick them up. Thank you for your help.
