AUTUMN 2018 CALENDAR: Hard to talk about autumn in the middle of summer but it’s coming and we want to be prepared! Please let the church office know about your building usage dates – when you will be meeting or holding a special event (dates, times and room preferences), the name of your group or event, and a contact person (e-mail and phone #). We want to make sure we don’t “double-book” anything and get the new season running smoothly. Thanks for your help! Send your details to contactus@fayettevilleumc.org or call 315-637-4413.

PUMPKINS: The pumpkins for our annual fundraiser are growing nicely, but could use your help with weeding and hoeing near the plants. The pumpkin patch is at the Haines’s house.  Contact the church office for directions. He invites you to stop by anytime to give a hand. Many thanks to the Haines family!

FAYETTEVILLE FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR FUMC BOOTH: September 15, 12-5. Meet and greet, chat awhile – help us let the Fayetteville community get to know our church and what we have to offer; plus face painting, balloon twisting, free water, cookie give away. Volunteers needed! Please contact the church office if you’d like to help.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION 2018-2019 REGISTRATION: Registration forms for the 2018-2019 are available for all ages. A listing of classes and the registration form can be found here and in the Sunday bulletin and weekly email. Please let us know what programs you plan to participate in to help us plan. We are looking forward to an exciting year in Christian Education here at FUMC! Forms can be turned in to Kathy Fortner or the Christian Education mailbox.

SAVE THE DATE: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 @ 9:30: Please join us as we kick-off the 2018-2019 Christian Education year! Children and Youth will have an open house/welcome party on the Lower Level. Adults are invited to join us for an FUMC Opportunity Fair in Homer Hall.

DIRECTORY UPDATE: Please keep the office posted when you have any changes in your address, phone number(s) or e-mail address. We want to make sure we can keep you up-to-date on everything going on at FUMC. We received a call from Nancie Love who is healing from an automobile accident (her Suburu Forrester was totaled!). She has moved to assisted living. Please contact the church office for her new address. We send our love and prayers to her as she heals.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY” EXTENDED THROUGH AUGUST 5TH: Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to our annual campaign! We have been seeking funds and other gifts to distribute to needy children and families in December. Instead of another fund drive in December, we have been asking you to contribute a gift – in JULY (through August 5) – to this project. It can be clothing, games, school supplies or books. Find the box in the Narthex for your gift. OR provide a check (made out to our Church with “Christmas in July” on the memo line) or a gift card from these stores: Tops, Target, Wegmans or Walmart. (Please place checks & gift cards in an envelope, marked for this project, in the offering or take them to the Church office. Some funds buy food as well). Jane Aliberto and her helpers shop, wrap and deliver these gifts to children in more than 10 local school districts in December. Last year, they served over 100 children!!

SUMMER BACKPACK MINISTRY: Help us fill the backpack with items for a man 60 years old; his size is large.

BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK GOLF TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER: Bellevue Heights UMC invites everyone to participate in their “Blessings in a Backpack” golf tournament fundraiser, which will be held August 5th at Orchard Vali Golf Course (1 pm shotgun start, dinner to follow). The “Blessings in a Backpack” program feeds more than 220 needy and hungry kids over the weekends during the school year. The goal is to be able to help all of the students at Delaware School which is approximately 500. For more information, contact Steve Mattice at either stmattice@verizon.net or smattice62@gmail.com.
