HEIFER PROJECT THANKS: Just under $2,000 in “alternative gifts” for Christmas were purchased in support of Heifer Project International. With so many requests for “gifts” at this time of year, I am always overwhelmed by the support Heifer receives from this congregation year after year.  A heartfelt “thank you” from me and from the families around the world who will be empowered by your generosity. ~ Judy Smith

BACKPACK MINISTRY: December’s recipient is a man of medium build. It’s getting cold and winter things would be appreciated. Look for the backpack in the Narthex.

2018 PLEDGES: If you haven’t had a chance to make your 2018 pledge to FUMC, pledge cards are available in the back of the sanctuary and in the Narthex. For those of you who requested pledge envelopes, they are ready to be picked up in the Narthex.  If you have any questions or would like to order a set of pledge envelopes, contact the church office. Thank you!

TRUSTEES: The next trustee’s meeting will be January 9th at 7 pm in the Library.

LIGHTS OUT, PLEASE!! The trustees request that everyone turns off the lights in the church once meetings are finished.  We are having issues with our electric bill being higher than normal and we need to work hard to turn off the lights when meetings are finished.  We want to thank everyone for their help in this matter.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE: The next Outreach Committee meeting will be held on January 10th at 7 pm in Homer Hall.

MYSTERY LUNCH BUNCH: If weather conditions are acceptable, the “Mystery Lunch Bunch” will go out after the service on January 7. You are welcome to join us as we dine together at an area restaurant — probably one not too far away. Call Sue or Peter Zarins (315-682-5615) by Friday, Jan. 6, to make a reservation. (If it’s stormy, we’ll move it to January 14.)

JULIETS 2 will meet December 30th (the last Saturday of December) at their usual place.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE: As part of her continuing Scout project, Julia Hamilton is helping to organize a Red Cross Blood Drive at FUMC in Homer Hall on December 30th from 9 am – 2 pm. Give blood! Help save lives!
